ANRAN GUO
Shh
Material: shredded newsprint paper
Dimensions: variable

Shh is made by a big pile of shredded blank newsprint paper, it is an installation designed to block the hallway so viewers have to walk through it, change its shape and even bring some of the shredded paper with them (unconsciously). People usually shred things because there is information on it, and they try to secure the information. By shedding blank newsprint paper, Anran Guo created a paradox trying to raise awareness to freedom of speech and issue of censorship.
